Historical Exposure of Australia's Bioregions to Marine Heatwaves and Cold Spells with Implications for Management and Climate-Preparedness

This repository contains the code and scripts used to analyse marine heatwaves and marine cold spells across Australian mesoscale bioregions from 1982 to 2024 using Global Ocean OSTIA Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Ice Analysis. The analysis includes data preparation, event detection, calculation of summary metrics and exposure index, statistical analyses and visualisation.
