LIBRARY RESOURCES AND SERVICES IN INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT

The present study describes role of the Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) in higher education and research in the discipline of management in the country. Each IIM has a well resourced library to support and encourage their academic and research work. This paper expansively studies execution, the resources and services of these libraries. The level of automation, ease of access of ICT infrastructure, access to electronic resources and digital library initiatives taken by these libraries are discussed. These information centers are an integral part of the IIM Systems and are highly treasured by their users for their services, extremely skilled staff, and trouble-free to use collections. It is recommended that these libraries need to move to the next level of technological up-gradation including application of cloud computing to advance their resources and services.
