Study of the interaction among microorganisms, plants and honeybees for the benefit of environmental health and sustainability

The project focuses on the integrated analysis of the microbiota associated with the root system of nectariferous plants . Its primary objective is to understand how interactions among soil, sunflower plants, and pollinating insects shape plant growth, stress tolerance, and protection against pathogens. Through advanced omics approaches, the project investigates the diversity of microbial communities linked to the rhizosphere and endosphere, while also considering their potential influence on pollinator health and behavior. This research contributes to the development of innovative and sustainable agronomic strategies, supporting the selection of nectariferous plants resistant to climate-related stresses and promoting cultivation practices that enhance both plant productivity and pollinator well-being.
