High fat diet alters gut microbiota but not spatial working memory in early middle-aged Sprague Dawley rats

The following data set includes: a file with rat body weights and food consumption during an 8 week study where one group of rats received a low fat, control diet and one group of rats received a high fat diet. These diets were matched for sucrose content. The data set also includes: a file indicating errors/performance on the water radial arm maze, gut microbe relative abundance counts for various genera, and average microglia counts in three brain regions: cortex, hippocampus, and hypothalamus.
