Primary Healthcare Institutions in Kurunegala District of North Western Province of Sri Lanka (Location Map)

There are more than 1500 healthcare institutes in total, from which 588 were hospitals and 517 were primary care institutes. Furthermore, there were 335 MOH offices. Sri Lanka has 555 government hospitals that provide primary health care. These institutions offer curative, preventive, and rehabilitation services to society as a whole. The map illustrated 45 of such primary care hospitals located in the one the highly populated district in Sri Lanka , the kurunegala district. The map was scatteched to support a cluster randomized control trial conducted in the district to Evaluate the healthcare workers knowledge improvement in compliance with national patients care management in the resource poor settings.
The map could assist with the designing stage of further clinico- epidemiological studies , in particular stratified randomized control trials where the geographical location of the institutes are considered in the District in line with the main terituarry care unit of Teaching hospital kurunegala.
