To better understand the language of H3K36 methylation in rice. we chose a potential histome methylation enzymes for functional exploration. In paticular, the rice SET domain group 708 (SDG708) was knock down by RNAi, then we examined the H3K36 methylation changes and gene expression changes between SDG708-RNAi plants and the wildtype ones, along with the phenotypic and physiological difference. Our data provides the valuable clues to understand the histone methylation changes and its potential downstream biological conquences in rice, the mainfood crop and the model monocot plant.
