Sunny Day Flooding Project Flood Counts: 2024-2025 and 2025-2026
收藏资源简介:
Most of our knowledge of flood risk in coastal communities comes from tide gauges, from which water levels measured above some threshold can be used to infer flooding on land. There is a lack of data on flooding on land, and we know that tide-gauge based proxies can under- or over-estimate flood risk (Hino et al., 2025). This dataset was created to build on the analysis of Hino et al. (2025) in quantifying flood incidence in the communities of Carolina Beach, Sea Level, Davis, New Bern, and Beaufort, North Carolina USA. We use quality-controlled (“QC’ed”) water level data from sensors located alongside roads or in storm drains as well as camera imagery to confirm flooding (Gold et al., 2023). This data and datasheet specifically pertains to QC’ed flood counts (days) and associated water level time series (every 6 minutes) from the meteorological years 2024-2025 & 2025-2026 which spans May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025 and May 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026.
