NRS-4843 | Report of Advisory Committee on Survey of Infant Deaths Registered in New South Wales during 1958

This is a confidential report of an investigation into the causes of "the infant death rate for New South Wales (being) high compared with other States, particularly Victoria". The report contains statistical tabulations of infant mortality for the years 1954-58, classed by state, cause of death, size of hospital, metropolitan or country etc. The Committee's discussion of the facts rejects by the statistics, and its recommendations to the Director General of Public Health make up the bulk of the report. Statements are appended by various members of the Advisory Committee of certain special aspects of the problem of the incidence of peri-natal deaths. (SZ3). 1 vol.
