PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type nonwoven fabric which is difficult to beak when manufacturing by a wet type papermaking method and contains a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fiber. SOLUTION: The wet type nonwoven fabric is characterized by that the fabric is composed of a PPS fiber and a fibrillated aramid fiber， the PPS fiber contains a PPS fiber having a variant cross section， the content of the fibrillated aramid fiber is 5 mass% or over and 70 mass% or under to all the fibers， and its basis weight is 8 g/m 2 or over and 200 g/m2 or under.SELECTED DRAWING: None
