资源简介:
Studying the safety and efficacy of two treatment protocols for Multiple sclerosis (MS) patients using Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem Cells MSCs subtype derived from the umbilical cord; UC-MSCs and their secretome Two groups of MS patients were included in the study. Group A consisted of 20 patients, and Group B consisted of 15 patients. In group A, two doses of expanded UC-MSCs were given intrathecally at one-month intervals. While in Group B, a single intrathecal dose was administered. Both groups received conditioned media of the expanded UC-MSCs at three months post first treatment. Adverse events in the form of a clinical checklist and extensive laboratory tests were performed to examine treatment safety. Both groups underwent the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), MRI, immunology, ophthalmology, psychology, cognitive, and motor tests. Whole transcriptome analysis post-treatment was conducted using a whole transcriptome microarray.
