These contracts and specifications are mainly for bridges. Some are the original contracts (with specifications, estimates, analyses of tenders and successful tenders) signed by the contractor and bearing annotations made during the course of the work. Others are merely blank copies from the Departmental library or copies with details filled in, used by the Chief Engineer during the course of the job. Four volumes relate to South Australian tramway contracts, which would indicate that the series was regarded as a reservoir of precedent. (2/3, 2/919-30, 8/2241). 14 vols.
