Two hundred sixty samples, including nasal and rectal swabs, blood serum, and fragments of internal organs, were collected from bats in southern Kazakhstan. Studies of the bat virome using high-throughput sequencing revealed five large families: Circoviridae, Parvoviridae, Retroviridae, Adenoviridae, and Orthoherpesviridae.
