Dataset of temperature of intertidal surface water in the middle zone of the ria of Arousa over twenty-one years (1976 - 1999)

This paper describes a series of surface water temperature data collected at Centro de Investigacións Mariñas de Galicia (CIMA) between 1976 and 1999. The series was interrupted between 1991 and 1995. Between March 1991 and December 1993, data were collected in a location (Cambados), 7 km from CIMA. Although the sampling points are located in different places, the data from Cambados were added to the same series. The temperature data series contains 4,070 records, with a minimum of 40 values in 1976 and a maximum of 244 in 1985, ranging from 8.8 °C (14/01/1980) to 25.2 °C (14/06/1984). The data are described using minimum, maximum, mean, standard deviation, and median values. The variation in the average monthly temperature over the years showed a significant increase in the spring months (March to June) and in August.
