Mineral magnetic data from sediments from core 506-48 of Lake Bolshoye Shchuchye

Measurements with a vibration sample magnetometer (VSM) on sediment material and measurements of the temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility of magnetic extracts from sediments from core 506-48 of Lake Bolshoye Shchuch'ye. The measurements of magnetic hysteresis, isothermal remanent magnetisation (IRM), and backfield curve were carried out with a Lakeshore VSM Model 8604 at the University of Cologne. The magnetic susceptibility of the magnetic extracts (X(T)) was also determined at the University of Cologne with an AGICO MFK2 Kapp bridge. An overview on the samples and measurements conducted is given in Table 5 and Table 6. The VSM data are only provided as uncorrected *.csv files. The file name consists of: core section number – subsection – depth of the section (start-end)_measurement type.csv. The X(T) measurements are summerised in the file ‘Extract-X(T)_measurement-data.csv’ and additionally provided as files for the freeware Cureval from AGICO.
