In vitro exposure of intestinal communities harvested from larval and juvenile zebrafish guts to TBT-Cl.

We harvested intestinal microbial communities by dissecting and pooling four whole intestines of zebrafish at two different standard lengths (SL). We inoculated triplicate tubes with Tryptic soy broth containing five different concentration of TBT-Cl and incubated the tubes in aerobic and anaerobic conditions for 24 hours at room temperature. We sampled each tube at the end of the incubation with the objective of testing if the in vitro communities resembled the in vivo communities of fish exposed to TBT-Cl in water.
