资源简介:
The representation of women in literature reflects the social, cultural, and ideological transformations of society. The twentieth century was a period of significant historical and social change that influenced the perception and role of women in different cultures. This study examines the transformation of the female image in twentieth-century Uzbek and English literature from a comparative perspective. The research analyzes how female characters evolved from traditional and passive figures into independent and socially active personalities. In early twentieth-century literary works, women were often portrayed within the framework of patriarchal social structures, primarily associated with family roles and moral values. However, as societies experienced modernization, educational expansion, and ideological shifts, literary representations of women also changed. The study explores how Uzbek and English writers depicted female characters in response to social reforms, cultural traditions, and historical events. Uzbek literature reflects the process of social modernization and the changing position of women within national culture, while English literature demonstrates the influence of modernist aesthetics and feminist thought on the development of female identity.
