scRNA-seq of shrimp gills

Alkalinity, pH and salinity were considered as three major risk factors for aquatic animals surviving in saline-alkaline water. However, few information exists on the effects of saline-alkaline stress in crustacean species or how these stressors affects the gills. The present study evaluated the effects of alkalinity, pH and salinity stress in Exopalaemon carinicauda to determine changes of gill microstructure, and explore the heterogeneity response of gill cells by single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq).
