Crystal structure of human protein kinase CK2 catalytic subunit (isoenzyme ck2alpha'; CSNK2A2 gene product) in complex with 4,5,6,7-tetrachloro-1H-1,2,3-benzotriazol

In this project we studied the influence of different halogenation patterns on (a) the binding mode and (b) the potency and binding strength of benzotriazole derivatives. Therefore, the CK2alpha' Cys336Ser crystal system was used, since it allows to solve crystal structures to near-atomic resolutions. This allowed us to give a good estimate of where each halogen of the tested benzotriazoles are located.
