1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy data acquired in 6 healthy volunteers using sSPECIAL and MEGA-sSPECIAL sequence in the M1 and mPFC to investigate reproducibility of the two methods (short-TE vs. editing methods). All MR measurements were performed on a 7T/68cm MR scanner (Magnetom, Siemens Medical Solutions, Erlangen, Germany) with a single-channel quadrature transmitter and a 32-channel receiver coil (Nova Medical Inc., MA, USA). Each subject was scanned twice to evaluate test-retest reproducibility of the sSPECIAL and MEGA-sSPECIAL. The order of sequence application and target region was randomized to avoid systematic error.. In each session, 4 spectra were acquired in each subject in the M1 and mPFC using sSPECIAL and MEGA-sSPECIAL.

Concentrations and CRLBs processed by LCModel after T2 and tissue composition corrections, which were used to calculate 1) coefficient of variation, 2) Pearson’s correlation coefficients r between pairs of measurements (the first and second scans) and between methods were calculated within each brain region (the M1 and mPFC) and across both brain regions accompanied with significance tests, 3) intraclass correlation coefficient, and 4) Bland-Altman analysis
