A pilot study conducted in the context and in preparation of the large-scale ZOE 2.0 research program. During this pilot study, supragingival plaque samples were obtained from 3-5-year-old children during dental examinations and they underwent whole genome shotgun sequencing and RNA-seq. Metagenomics and metatranscriptomics sequence data from 116 children are being shared alongside demographic information and clinical outcome data on dental caries (tooth decay) experience.
