Physicochemical and microbiological characterization of on-farm compost produced using static piles with passive aeration
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains anonymized physicochemical and microbiological data from compost produced under real on-farm conditions using static piles with passive aeration. The dataset comprises 17 compost samples from 12 anonymized farms evaluated during two sampling periods in 2023. Microbiological characterization was available for 10 samples collected in November 2023. The physicochemical characterization includes moisture, water retention capacity, particle density, pH, electrical conductivity, ash content, volatilization loss, cation exchange capacity, oxidizable organic carbon, C/N ratio, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other macro- and micronutrients. Microbiological data include culturable fungi, yeasts, actinomycetes, aerobic mesophilic bacteria, free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria, phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria, and potassium-solubilizing bacteria. The repository includes the anonymized analytical dataset, a data dictionary, supplementary sampling information, and R scripts used to reproduce the statistical analyses, tables, and figures reported in the associated study. Farm names and original laboratory sample identifiers were replaced with anonymous identifiers. Yeast results reported as <10 CFU g⁻¹ were retained as censored observations and should not be interpreted as absence of yeasts. The dataset is intended to support reproducibility and further research on the physicochemical and microbiological heterogeneity of compost produced under on-farm conditions.
