Data and R code from "Prescribed fire reduces wildfire severity to highly valued re-sources and assets in the Southeastern US"

This archive contains data and R code used to evaluate the effectiveness of prescribed fire for mitigating wildfire severity. All data and used in this analysis are publicly available.The 'eddi' directory contains the Evaporative Demand Drought Index data in .csv format, downloaded from https://psl.noaa.gov/eddi/.The 'landfire' directory contains the LANDFIRE vegetation data in .tif format, downloaded from https://www.landfire.gov/vegetation.The 'mtbs' directory contains the wildfire data in .tif format, downloaded from the Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS) data portal at https://www.mtbs.gov/direct-download.The 'rx' directory contains the original prescribed fire records in .shp format for the National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs), obtained by submitting a data request to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Open Data portal (https://gis-fws.opendata.arcgis.com/).
