This dataset consists of two tables on nipple counts and litter size in the Edible dormouse. Table S1. Individual level data of Edible dormouse females in 2013–2015. ID – the identity of the female, Year – a particular year with reproductive event, Prop.beech – % of beech trees around the maternal nest box, tibia – length of tibia in mm, Nipple.count – number of active nipples, Litter.size – number of pups at birth. Table S2. Counts of active mammae (in lactation) of Edible dormouse females over their lifetimes in 2013–2022. Litter – order of the litter within a female´s life, ID – the identity of the female, Year – a particular year with reproductive event, Nipple.count – number of active nipples, Nesting type – C or S = Communal or solitary.
