The goal of this study is to identify significant changes to gene expression in the brain following repeated administration of the antipsychotic drug clozapine. While clozapine is the most effective antipsychotic drug, it has potentially problematic side effects. The data that we generate will help us to better understand how clozapine affects genomic regulation, so as to identify mechanisms and markers of clozapine response to enable future antipsychotic drug development. Male C57BL/6J mice received once daily i.p. injections of the antipsychotic drug clozapine at 4mg/kg for 21 days. 24 hrs after the final injection, subjects were sacrificed and the cortex collected. Total RNA was extracted and poly(A) selected RNA was subjected to standard, paired-end Illumina sequencing.
