Combined host and parasite records

occurrence information for both parasites and their hosts off the Global Biodiversity Information Framework (GBIF: The Global Biodiversity Information Facility, 2021) and the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS, 2021).Records with missing data points, missing coordinates and duplicates were removed. To account for any geographic outliers, I removed any records where the minimum distance of that record to all other records, was greater than 10 degrees. Additionally, the high-resolution coastal layer from the Global Self-consistent, Hierarchical, High-resolution Geography Database (GSHHG) (Wessel & Smith, 1996) was used to remove land-based occurrence points with a one kilometre buffer.
