Dataset and codebook of Teachers' perceptions of inclusive education in secondary, high school, and vocational training: Resources, barriers, and training needs

This repository contains the dataset and the accompanying codebook from the study Teachers' perceptions of inclusive education in secondary, high school, and vocational training: Resources, barriers, and training needs. The dataset includes anonymized responses collected from active teachers in secondary education, high school, and vocational training. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire designed to explore teachers’ conceptions of inclusive education, perceived barriers to its implementation, available pedagogical and organizational resources, and professional training needs. All responses are fully anonymized to comply with ethical and legal standards. The codebook provides detailed documentation of the analytical framework used in the study. It presents the hierarchical structure of meta-categories (MC), categories (C), and subcategories (SC), each linked to specific research objectives. These cover critical dimensions such as educational center infrastructure (human and material resources, adaptations, and SSESN presence), teaching performance in addressing diversity, continuous professional development (CPD), shortcomings in initial teacher education (ITE), and perceived changes in inclusive practices. Together, the dataset and codebook offer a comprehensive resource for researchers, teacher trainers, and policymakers. The dataset enables empirical analysis of teachers’ perceptions of inclusive education, while the codebook ensures transparency, reproducibility, and clarity in interpreting the variables. This combination supports comparative research, the design of inclusive educational strategies, and the development of teacher training programs tailored to identified needs.
