"Institutional Fiefdoms" Dataset

This data file contains the codebook for the doctoral research project on social enterprise ecosystems in Poland and Vietnam on which the paper entitled "Institutional Fiefdoms: The implementation of governance and new norms within an emerging strategic action field" is based . The data was collected between January 2021 and August 2021, and the codebook includes the quotes, participant numbers, and the coding key and definitions for researchers to view. Participants are split into two separate categories: Social Enterprise Incubator managers, classified as 'governance units', and social enterprise managers, classified as challengers, within the selected theoretical frame, "Strategic Action Fields". A total of 24 participants took part in the research and are included in the dataset. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and was analysed through a thematic analysis centred on critical realism.
