The Volunteer Force Regulation Act of 1867 (31 Vic. No.5) sections 44 and 45 provided for free grants of land to those volunteers who provided a certificate showing five years' efficient service from the officer commanding the Volunteer Force.This register provides the following information: name of purchaser; residence; date of selection; area selected and description of land selected.(34/2366 part). 1 vol (part).
