This dataset, named "Human-Robot Hugging Interaction Dataset", was created by the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. It contains 353 records of human-robot hugging interactions, collected by deploying the Baxter humanoid robot and equipping participants with wearable sensors. The dataset includes detailed information such as the movements, positions, and applied pressures of both the robot and the human participants. During its development, 33 participants performed hugging interactions with the robot with minimal guidance, ensuring the naturalness and diversity of the collected data. This dataset is primarily intended for training machine learning models to enable robots to predict and respond to human hugging behaviors, and is applicable to fields such as human-robot interaction and social robotics, aiming to enhance trust and collaboration between humans and robots.
