This dataset contain coordinates for over 2,900 capture locations of slave ships by various navies during the suppression of the slave trade from Africa between 1800 and 1920. Captures occurred in both the Atlantic and Indian oceans, as well as in the Red and Arabian seas. These data reflect captures by Britain, France, USA, Netherlands, Argentines, Spain, Portugal, Haiti, Ottoman, and Italy. These data relate to the relaunch of https://liberatedafricans.org/ on 1 June 2023.
