The values here are taken to represent a typical sample of Ae. aegypti population parameters and a typical sample of disease parameters for a vector-borne disease such as Zika in North America (see Ref. [27] and the references contained within). These parameters are expected to vary widely between locations, mosquito species, and diseases, and values should be carefully estimated when applying the techniques in this paper to specific situations in the field.
