Nephelometer measurements of aerosol particle scattering and backscattering coefficients in summertime in Narsaq, South Greenland during Greenfjord 2023

Abstract and dataset contents: This dataset contains 1-minute averaged measurements of aerosol particle scattering and backscattering coefficients at three wavelengths—blue (450 nm), green (525 nm), and red (635 nm)—using the Aurora™ 3000 three-wavelength integrating nephelometer (Acoem, Melbourne, Australia). Measurements were carried out at the Narsaq International Research Station (NIRS) in southern Greenland (60.9158°N, 46.0533°W, 17 m above sea level) during the Greenfjord campaign in June-August 2023. Metadata can be found in the file 'Metadata_Nephelometer.docx'. Briefly, the dataset files (Nephelometer.csv) include: Datetime Scattering coefficient at 450, 525 and 635 nm (M m-1) Backscattering coefficients at 450, 525 and 635 nm (M m-1) Pollution flag to inform data user when short-lived spikes can be found in the data from local anthropogenic pollution Calibration flag to inform data user of data after unsuccessful calibration, where calibration values did not fall within the range suggested by the manufacturer Funding acknowledgements: This work was supported by funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation grant no. 200021_212101, the Swiss Polar Institute grant no.
