Open Drain Network 2025

Overview This feature service represents the open drains, also known as ditches, that form part of the stormwater network in Cape Cod. It provides detailed spatial data on these drainage features based on high-resolution aerial imagery collected in the spring of 2025. The data capture ensures accurate planimetric representation suitable for infrastructure and environmental management. Geographic Coverage The data covers the Cape Cod region, derived from aerial photography undertaken by NV5, funded by the Cape Cod Commission. The imagery used provides true color and near-infrared bands with ground sample resolution of 7.5 centimeters, ensuring detail suitable for fine-scale environmental and infrastructure analysis. Data Quality and Acquisition The dataset was developed with stringent quality controls ensuring a horizontal positional accuracy better than 0.38 meters at 95% confidence. Imagery acquisition conditions were optimized for clarity, including leaf-off, snow-free, and minimal shadow conditions, mostly during mid-morning to early afternoon in early 2025.
