Soluble salt of Chinese Loess Plateau

This dataset includes the soluble salt ions of Jiuzhoutai and Lingtai loess section  in the Chinese Loess Plateau.   

Before soluble salts measurement, all samples were dried and ground in an agate mortar and passed through a 100 μm sieve. Then, a 10 g sample was weighed and mixed with distilled water (ratio of 1:5), thoroughly mixed, centrifuged and the supernatant extracted for soluble salts measurements. The supernatant was measured using the ICS-2500 ion chromatograph (DIONEX, USA), which can measure seven major ions in solution, including the anions Cl−, NO3−, SO42− and the cations Na+, K+, Mg2+ and Ca2+, with measurement accuracy of 0.1%–0.3%. All experiments were conducted in the Key Laboratory of Western China’s Environmental Systems, Lanzhou University.
