Study of Dmrt2 transcriptional regulation of the embryonic cingulate cortex in males and females.

The link between developmental mechanisms, circuit formation and ultimately behaviour remains to be clarified. Dmrt2 is expressed in cortical neurons. We have downregulated Dmrt2 expression specifically in the cingulate cortex in E13.5 embryos. We have in utero electroporated an shRNA against Dmrt2 or mock as a control. In this experiment, we have compared the expression profiles of Dmrt2 downregulated versus wild type cingulate cortices in male and female E18.5 embryos.
