Lung resident mesenchymal stem cells exert a pivotal role in tissue repair. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is characterized by an aberrant tissue repair. We performed a transcriptomic analysis to characterize lung resident mesenchymal stem cells from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients Lung resident mesenchymal stem cells were isolated from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients and control subjects. RNA was isolated from cultured cells and transcriptomic analysis were performed by using the GeneChip® Gene 1.0 ST Array System (Affymetrix)
