Global transcriptome of MSSRF30T growth in a nitrogen-free minimal medium

Biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) is a significant mechanism by which symbiotic diazotrophs provide reduced form of nitrogen to be utilized by the plant host. Vibrio porteresiae MSSRF30T is a diazotrophic bacterium that encodes the complete nitrogen fixation region in the genome and gene expression studies under nitrogen-limiting conditions are scarce in the Vibrionaceae family. This study improves understanding of BNF by vibrios in brackishwater ecosystems where nitrogen availability is low.
