Meta Conversions API

The **Meta Conversions API** allows you to connect your server-side marketing data to Meta technologies to strengthen the reliability of your data signals. By sharing events directly from your **Databricks** lakehouse, you bypass browser-based limitations such as ad blockers and cookie restrictions. When used alongside the **Meta Pixel**, the Meta Conversions API improves measurement, reporting, and optimization by providing a more complete view of the customer journey.

* **Improving measurement:** Accurately track actions in multiple ways, including deep-funnel milestones like subscription renewals or qualified leads.
* **Increasing match quality:** Share hashed first-party data to improve the event match quality (EMQ) and enhance audience retargeting.
* **Tracking offline conversions:** Connect in-store purchases and phone-call conversions directly to your Meta ad campaigns.

The example notebook and sample web-event dataset provide a step-by-step walkthrough of how to run Meta Conversions API pipelines on Databricks. It uses **PySpark** user-defined table functions (UDTFs) to enable parallelized event processing at scale. Events are linked to a **Meta Pixel ID** and processed in a manner consistent with Meta’s client-side event model. **Standard datasets include:**
* **Web events:** Captures online actions like purchase and add to cart.
* **Offline events:** Tracks transactions occurring outside of a web browser.
* **Identity mapping:** Uses Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit hashing for secure user matching.
