Bioenergy Sorghum’s Deep Roots – A Key to Sustainable Biomass Production on Annual Cropland - Dataset

This data set contains root morphometric data on TX08001 over a series of studies that show its biomass accumulation over a season, the maximal extent of biomass accumulation, the distribution of roots within the soil profile, and the effects of two different soil types (Weswood Silt Loam and Roetex Clay) on root distribution and biomass accumulation. The several experiments needed to probe these questions occurred during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 growing seasons. Additional data is included that shows the soil particle size analysis conducted to show soil composition of the 2018 and 2019 experiments.
