The viral metagenomes of red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii

To investigate the diversity and difference of the viral community in red swamp crayfishes, we used meta-transcriptomic sequencing to uncover the RNA viromes in pooled samples of red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) taken from Qianjiang, Hebei Province. In March 2021, we collected the hepatopancreas, gills and muscles from crayfishes of different growth stage and health status. In May 2021, we collected the hepatopancreas, gills and muscles from crayfishes of different sizes. Samples of each tissue were pooled and subsequently used to construct a library. Fifteen libraries were constructed totally. The libraries were pair-ended sequenced (150 bp) on an Illumina Novaseq 6000 platform (Illumina).
