Biomphalaria pfeifferi Genome sequencing and assembly

Biomphalaria pfeifferi is widely distributed across Africa and is the most important snail vector for the human-infecting blood fluke, Schistosoma mansoni, the world's most common causative agent of intestinal schistosomiasis. A better understanding of its genome structure and function will facilitate all aspects of the study of this important vector species. A total of 37X coverage of PacBio HiFi reads (Circular Consensus Sequence) were used for genome assembly.
