Mutations in evolved clones.

All clones with the alias “ACI” are from chemostat evolution experiment. All other clones are from coculture evolution experiments, a fraction of which (i.e., strains with alias “CT”) are from an earlier study [31]. Gray shading: auxotrophic strain. For WY2467, we identified it as orgS− from growth patterns. However, its genetic basis is unclear since among identified mutations, none is known to affect organosulfur biosynthesis.
