This Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data set is
collected by a ground station located at the University of North
Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Coverage is limited to the North
American continent. Since March 5, 2000 these data have been archived
on DAT tape.
AVHRR data have a spatial resolution of 1km. Data are collected in 5
bands, ranging from the visible to the thermal infrared. The data can
be used for research in land cover, atmospheric, and oceanic
applications.
