FAD2 PERFORMANCE LOCI AND CORRESPONDING TARGET SITE SPECIFIC BINDING PROTEINS CAPABLE OF INDUCING TARGETED BREAKS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and compositions for gene destruction， gene editing， or gene stacking within FAD2 loci. SOLUTION: A method of modifying a FAD2 gene in a soybean cell comprises cleaving a target site within any of specific nucleotide sequences in the FAD2 gene in the soybean cell with a nuclease in a site-specific manner， thereby producing a cleavage site in the FAD2 gene， in which method， at least one FAD2 gene is modified by incorporating an exogenous nucleic acid sequence of interest at the cleavage site， the FAD2 gene being a FAD2 2.3 gene comprising a nucleotide sequence represented by a specific sequence or a homolog or a paralog thereof， a FAD2 2.6 gene comprising a nucleotide sequence represented by a specific sequence or a homolog or a paralog thereof， or both.
