ECTOMYCORRHIZAL FUNGI HAVE NUTRIENT-DEPENDENT EFFECTS ON BUR OAK SEEDLING GROWTH IRRESPECTIVE OF PLANT-SOIL FEEDBACKS

This experiment entailed conducting a plant-soil feedback experiment in which bur oak seedlings were grown in pots inoculated with field-sampled soil taken from adult Acer rubrum, Carya ovata, Quercus macrocarpa, and Q. rubra, as well as from an adjacent old field in northeastern Ohio. Four soil samples from each origin were taken and then subjected to ITS2 metabarcoding to describe fungal community composition.
