Diet alleviates diabetic lacrimal glands injury

In this study, we found that compared with caloric restriction, every-other-day feeding effectively reduced lipid accumulation in the lacrimal glands of diabetic db/db mice. According to their general and ocular surface conditions, thirty-six db/db mice were randomly divided into 3 groups, ad libitum (AL), meal feeding (MF), and every-other-day feeding (EODF). To elucidate the impact of dietary intervention on lacrimal gland gene expression and networks, we carried out mRNA sequencing to analyse the transcriptomes of the lacrimal glands in these three groups.
