Impact of antibiotic therapy on the mycobiome in patients with cystic fibrosis

This study examined nasal lavage and stool samples from cystic fibrosis (CF) patients across different clinical states and compared their mycobiomes to those of healthy individuals. It investigated fungal biomass, mycobiome diversity, fungal community structures (ITS1 amplicon sequencing), and the impact of cumulative antibiotic intake over a period of three years.
