PCA Data for ''Adaptive traits of <i>Listeria monocytogenes</i> and <i>Bacillus cereus</i> strains exposed to cold, heat, acid and saline stress conditions.''

The impact of several sublethal and lethal stresses has been investigated on ten strains of Bacillus cereus group and nine strains of Listeria monocytogenes. Vegetative cells of each strain were first exposed to optimal, cold, heat, acid or saline conditions to create different cell histories. Their growth or inactivation potentials were then assessed (cell density measurement) when submitted to another set of optimal or stress conditions (cold, heat, mild acid) to analyze the influence of both cell history and strain diversity on adaptive traits observed. Data were interpreted with Principal Component Analysis.
