Application of whole-genome sequencing for surveillance of food-borne pathogen Campylobacter jejuni. Campylobacter jejuni whole genome shot-gun sequencing

The decreased costs of genome sequencing have increased capability to apply whole-genome sequence on epidemiological surveillance of zoonotic Campylobacter jejuni. However, knowledge on the genomic diversity of this bacteria is vital for inferring relatedness between epidemiological linked isolates and a necessary prerequisite for correct application of this methodology.
