Benchmark dataset for production planning and detailed scheduling in the chemical process industry with reinforcement learning

The dataset is derived from the Westenberger-Kallrath problem, an established benchmark for production planning (PP) and detailed scheduling (DS) in the chemical process industry (CPI). Covering both customer due dates and processing times, as well as customer prices and cost factors for production and inventory, this dataset can be used in a variety of models with corresponding objective functions. Further, this dataset contributes to the reference sets in the operations research (OR) literature, allowing a standardized evaluation of solution methods targeting PP and DS in the CPI. The size of the problem instances is determined by the customer order count, for which a step-wise increase enables researchers to analyze and compare the computational runtimes of solution algorithms.
